John Zelenski speaks on the “happy path” to sustainability through linking nature and happiness.

About the speaker

John Zelenski is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Carleton University where he directs the Carleton University Happiness Lab. With the CUHL, he studies individual differences in happiness, and how personality manifests itself ‘in the moment’ as emotional and cognitive psychological processes. Recent work has focused on the causes and consequences of social behaviour, and the links among natural environments, people’s sense of connection to nature, happiness, and sustainable behaviour. His research is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Ontario Research Fund, and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, and is published in journals such as Psychological Science, Emotion, Environment and Behavior, and Journal of Happiness Studies.
